The challenge

Paying school fees usually means queues at the school office or the bank, cash handling, paper receipts and no easy way to prove what was paid for which child. Parents with several children in different classes, or schools, have it harder still.

Schools face the other side of the same problem: payments for tuition, transport and meals arrive by different routes, and reconciling them against students, classes and fee types takes time and invites mistakes.

What we built

We built Scolaris Pay as a mobile app for parents and a finance system for schools. A parent picks the school and the purpose of the payment (tuition, enrolment, exam fees, transport, cafeteria), enters the student's details, pays with Mobile Money or a bank card and gets confirmation straight away.

On the school's side, every transaction is recorded with the student's name, class and purpose, and the platform manages students, sessions, payments and financial operations in one place.

The outcome

Parents pay from their phone and always have a payment history, and schools receive detailed, traceable records instead of reconciling payments by hand.
